DR. AHN HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE FSU CAREER CENTER

Dr. Hyochol Ahn was recently recognized by the Florida State University Career Center for providing an enriching experiential learning opportunity during the Fall 2022 semester to students.

The Brain Science and Symptom Management Center (BSSMC) supports a number of programs that provide students with various learning opportunities, and during this Fall semester of 2022, we hosted 2 Directed Individual Study students and 6 Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program students.

The experience outside of the classroom allows students to explore their prospective industries, and as a result, make better informed career decisions. Opportunities such as these are critical for students in learning workplace norms, expectations, and the development of their professional image and voice.

Recent studies from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) indicate that students

who participate in experiential learning during their college experience are 14% more likely to receive at

least one job offer at the time of their graduation than students who do not.

Thus, Dr. Ahn and the BSSMC will continue to provide mentoring and support for the learning process of Florida State University students.
