Nicole Ennis, PhD

Dr. Nicole Ennis is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine in the College of Medicine at Florida State University. She is the Director of the iRACE (Intervention Research Advancing Care Equity) Lab, Faculty at the Center for Translational Behavioral Sciences, and an Affiliate Faculty Member at the Institute for Successful Longevity. Dr. Ennis is also an Affiliate Faculty member in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida. Additionally, she co-founded the Complementary Care Practice-Based Research Network (CC-PBRN), an academic-industry partnership uniting researchers, physicians, patients, and stakeholders to address critical gaps in cannabis science. Guided by a dissemination and implementation science framework, the overarching goal of Dr. Ennis’ research is to improve patient care among medically underserved populations through evidence-based behavioral interventions in the context of learning healthcare systems. In addition, Dr. Ennis’ work examines and identifies implementation strategies that improve patient care in real world settings. Dr. Ennis has been continuously funded as PI or MPI by the National Institutes of Health and other funding agencies for the past ten years and her body of work is documented in >65 refereed publications. She on the editorial board of two American Psychological Association (APA) journals and currently serves on the Education and Training Committee of APA Division 50.
