Dr. Jie Chen

Dr. Chen obtained his BSN from Wuhan University HOPE School of Nursing in 2008, completed his master’s program at Peking University Health Science Center in 2014, and finished his PhD training at the University of Connecticut School of Nursing in 2021. His research projects focus on pain and symptom management in older adults with multiple chronic conditions (MCC), i.e., cancer and cardiovascular disease. His long-term research plan is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the bio-behavioral and multi-omics mechanisms of pain and pain self-management among older adults with MCC. His dissertation titled “Pain Management in Older Adults with Heart Failure” was supported by the American Nurses Foundation from the Virginia Stone Fund, Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS)/CANS dissertation award, and STTI Mu Chapter research award.
